World of Cricket Bat Grips

THERE ARE MANY IMPORTANT THINGS TO CONSIDER WHILE BUYING/PLAYING WITH A CRICKET BAT SUCH AS PICKUP , BALANCE NUMBER OF GRAINS , PING BUT THE ONE WHICH IS VERY VITAL AND OFTEN LESS TALKED ABOUT IS ITS GRIP.

I am Talking about Cricket Bat Rubber Grips , They play a Very Very Important part in a Cricketers Life , Getting it Right is really important for performance.
So let’s have a look at the latest grips available in the market and there use.
From all the grips that I tested the one which stood out in terms of gripping ability is
1)Ripple/Wave/Aqua
Actually this is been used by Both SS and GM for their bats and we have no complaints whatsoever.
It’s not so hard on the gloves as well and gives a good gripping feel to the bat.

2) Chevron/Zig Zag Lines
This is probably the most go to Grip for any batsman when in doubt. A Chevron Grip Can Never Go Wrong For Any Batsman Whatever may be the Playing Style. Very Soft on the Hands and gives optimum maneuverability to smash it to all corners of the park.
Used by  almost all the TOP Cricketing Brands such as SS , SG , GM , Gray Niccols , Puma @ some point of time in the past decade and even today it can give run for their money to all its competitor textures for its pure brilliance and design simplicity.

I recently ordered it Online from Amazon http://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B01NCK9SXG/ref=s9_dcacsd_dcoop_bw_c_x_5_w and it was a delite.

3) Octopus/Bubble
You would definitely have come across this pattern in your cricketing life as it is one of the most Gripping textures. The Pores in the Texture kind of create a Vacuum with the gloves and give unmatched gripping it’s famous for and reduces the chances of slipping from the bat. On the Other hand some players complain that it’s a Bit Harsh on the Gloves as it slightly reduces the durability of gloves. Go For this texture if you hold the t tight and have a big bat swing like to hit long.

4) Thunderblade/Players Grip Texture :
Recently I came across this grip texture that I was surprised to see extent of its effect on a cricket bat.
SG Were the First to Use this Texture on their bats and then on Kookaburra as well for obvious reasons that does not need a mention.(Those who still not get it is because it is manufactured by SG only)
I had a Normal Fish/Scale Grip texture previously on my SS Gladiator and then a friend of mine introduced me to this Texture and the result was heartening , pickup became lighter and gave very good control when playing all shots. The Reason is it’s a nice thick grip and the texture is very well embossed.

So currently it has become my personal favorite grip.
Lastly I have recently come across an online website www.makemygrip.com which is offering Custom Grips with Choice of Texture and Color. Addition to this they are also doing some text as well on the grip. Initially I Thought its nothing but just Printing on the Grip but I was surprised to see that it was not printing but it was the rubber coloring of the text written which is a completely new thing and unheard of for Bat Grips.

Happy Grip Hunting and Smash it Out the Park
